L’economia circolare è un elemento strategico per la sostenibilità e la competitività dell’Unione Europea, contribuendo alla riduzione del consumo di energia e delle emissioni, nonché al rafforzamento dell’autonomia strategica dell’UE attraverso la disponibilità di materie prime secondarie.

L’evento, sarà un’importante occasione per discutere il futuro dell’economia circolare in Europa, anche alla luce delle iniziative normative dell’UE, tra cui l’atteso “Circular Economy Act”.

Durante l’incontro verrà presentato il Documento di Confindustria, che raccoglie le migliori pratiche industriali e propone raccomandazioni chiave per definire il nuovo quadro normativo europeo sul tema dell’economia circolare. Saranno affrontati temi centrali come la creazione di un mercato interno delle materie prime secondarie, l’armonizzazione normativa, la semplificazione amministrativa e gli incentivi per la circolarità.

L’evento vedrà la partecipazione di rappresentanti delle Istituzioni europee e nazionali, delle principali organizzazioni imprenditoriali e del mondo industriale, con l’obiettivo di avviare un confronto costruttivo a livello europeo sulle azioni e sulle strategie necessarie per accelerare la transizione verso un’economia più sostenibile e competitiva.

Circular economy is a strategic pillar for the sustainability and competitiveness of the European Union. It plays a crucial role in reducing energy consumption and emissions while strengthening the EU’s strategic autonomy through the availability of secondary raw materials.

To foster dialogue on this key issue, Confindustria and the Permanent Representation of Italy to the European Union, in cooperation with the Federation of German Industries (BDI), Mouvement des Entreprises de France (MEDEF), and the Confederation of Swedish Enterprises (SN), are organising the event "Loop Forward: Building a Circular Economy for a Sustainable and Competitive Europe."

The session will feature the presentation of Confindustria's 2024 Study on Circular Economy, followed by a high-level discussion with representatives from the European Parliament, the European Commission, the Italian Government, and European industry.
